Teen Dating Pledge

Teen dating violence is a severe problem all across the country.  A national study of teens revealed that 1 in 5 reported having been victims of dating violence.  In 2001,  a report conducted by the Department of Justice stated that women and girls aged 16 to 24 experienced the highest rate of intimate partner violence.  By signing the pledge, students make a personal commitment to stand up to dating abuse and to support community efforts that increase awareness of the problem.

  • I PLEDGE NEVER TO:
Commit or tolerate any act of violence
Remain silent or make excuses for abusers, or
    Stay in an unhealthy relationship
  • YOU HAVE THE RESPONSIBILITY TO:
    Determine your limits and values
    Respect the limits of others
    Communicate clearly and honestly
